90 Percent Subsidy for ‘Sprinkle Irrigation Scheme’ beneficiaries
After the farmers’ loan waiver scheme, there is good news yet again for the farmers. This time there isn’t a loan waiver but a 90% subsidy for crops and production for the farmers. This is exclusively for those who have taken the benefits of the ‘sprinkle irrigation scheme’.
On January 25th, the Irrigation minister of Uttar Pradesh, Mr. Dharmpal Singh, has said that the small and marginal farmers will get this subsidy. This was announced during the UP Diwas celebration at the Mandi Samiti. He also mentioned that the UP government has gone into a Ken Betwa agreement which will help the farmers of Bundelkhand get their due appropriately.
All Important Features
- The sprinkle irrigation scheme is a novel scheme being implemented in UP. It aims to solve the water related issues of the local farmers.
- This scheme will also ensure that the farmers are less dependent on the natural factors for their production and hence it will increase their produce.
- Those farmers who will take the benefits of this scheme will get 99% subsidy from the state government – as has been announced recently.
- To enable this scheme and to ensure that its benefits reach the beneficiaries, the government has already started providing the materials of irrigation.
Aim of the scheme
Nowadays the depleting natural resources are a thing of worry. But to add to that are the woes of the farmers who are often the victims of drought or floods. Getting just the right amount of water for growing crops without water wastage is the main aim of this scheme. The state government has emphasized on efforts put by every farmer in general. Pollution-free and clean rivers are to be the source of this scheme. Hence the farmers have to work to ensure their surroundings are clean.
The subsidy offered by this scheme will help the proper implementation of this scheme. More and more farmers will register themselves for this scheme and this will also help propagate the benefits of irrigation in the state.
