On accounting those factors, and to provide better governance to those areas the governments India providing various help and implementing innovative plans and rules to prevent wild animals entering into fields. Recently the Himachal Pradesh state government introduced Khet Sanrakshan Yojana.
Mukhya Mantri Khet Sanrakshan Yojana in Himachal Pradesh State
The Himachal Pradesh state government is planned to provide financial assistance to the state farmers who are seeking funds for proving fences around their farms. The scheme Mukhya Mantri Khet Sanrakshan Yojana was recently announced by the state chief minister Mr. Virbhadra Singh.
The farming lands in the Himachal Pradesh are being occupied by the wild animals like deer, bulls, and other stray animals due which the farmers facing lots of revenue loss because of the damages created by those wild animals. Several farmers who can manage the cost for placing fences with low power electric current has managed to product their lands from getting destroyed by animals. However, for poor and small level farmers it’s nearly impossible to place such low power electric fences which main works due to the solar power because of its high cost.
Key facts about the scheme
- As per the complaint records and with the survey statistics around 2 Lakh areas of the cultivation farms often gets affected because of the wild animals.
- Being a top list while ranking the states according to the GSDP (Gross State Domestic Product) the Himachal state government accepted the request of farmers on placing low power electric fence to product their lands from the wild animals.
- In order to provide financial assistance to the poor and small farmers in the state, the state government introduced this new scheme by which loans will be provided to farmers for placing those solar fences on their lands.
- Under this Khet Sanrakshan yojana, the state government of HP will accept about 60% of the cost for placing solar fence in the farming lands.
Impact of placing electric fence in the agriculture lands of the state HP
Ever since the state government accepted the request of placing low power electric in the potential treads on the agricultural lands by the wild animals, the state is experiencing some notable growth in the agricultural production. In order to boost it further, the state government introduced this new scheme to the small and poor farmers as it will improve their living standards along with state’s productivity.
However, the state government is very caution on placing those electric fences in the lands in such a way as it won’t provide life threatening act to the intruding wild animals. Also proper governance body needs to be formed by the state government to cross check whether those electric fences are being utilized for the specific purpose and not for the illegal activities like capturing the wild animals.
