Haryana Krishak Upahaar Yojana
Farmers are one of the most important asset of our country and it just cannot be denied that it is for them, we, the common people have the luxury of different food. But unfortunately, they are also the most neglected group of individuals when it comes to respect, money and incentives. And this is why the government of India has taken up initiatives to present the farmers with awards and incentives to make their lives a better one. The scheme is known as Krishak Upahaar Yojana. The objective of offering this scheme is the promotion of diversification and offering a fill-up for the state-run mandis. Under this scheme, prizes will be provided annually so that the farmers can bring their production worth to a minimum value of Rs 5000.
- The process for offering awards
So how will the process of awarding farmers take place? The process will start with a form, which is known as the J-form. This form is similar to a lottery number and the prizes will be distributed according to the J-Forms present with the farmers. But there are certain criteria for the distribution of awards. The awards will be given to those farmers in case of private procurement of crops. Apart from them, those crops which are purchased at minimum support prices fixed by the government. The crops can be mustard, cotton, basmati, millet and guar.
- The distribution of awards
The prizes shall be distributed twice a year, for both Rabi and Kharif crops. According to the statement made by OP Dhankar, Agricultural minister, there will be a certain number of e-mandis and those mandis will be linked with the national agricultural market according to the pattern of Karnataka. This will enable the farmers to get a good price for harvesting from any location. It was also announced that the employees of Haryana State agricultural marketing board will have some incentives. In different mandis, the employees are going to have targets for collecting the revenue depending on the circumstances of the area. The employees, who are able to achieve this target, will be offered with 2% to 4% of advance increments. Apart from that, a bonus will be offered to all employees if they can deliver an overall outstanding performance regarding the revenue of mandi.
- Growing dissatisfaction among farmers
But there are a certain factors that cannot be ignored here. According to a lot of people the BJP government has failed to keep up the promise of offering awards to the farmers. The Krishak Upahaar Yojana was announced in the last season, but since then, no action has been taken up. This has caused dissatisfaction among the farmers.
